A Holly, Jolly Christmas Luncheon at Imperial Country Club

Members of Delta Pi Delta Alumnae Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega met for a Christmas celebration at Imperial Golf Club in Naples, Florida, on December 14, 2019. The group was large, festive and dressed in the colors of Christmas. Hostess Donna Porter provided a beautiful luncheon and included on the menu sticky buns, our perennial favorite at Imperial. They were every bit as good as usual. As Christmas gifts, members brought personal items and gift cards for women and children in shelters in Hendry, Lee and Collier Counties.

New member, Cynthia Stehman. She also got the Poinsettia centerpiece, which was given to the youngest member at her table.

Our speaker was Karna Bodman. She served six years in the Reagan White House, first as Deputy Press Secretary to Jim Brady, later as Senior Director and spokesman for the National Security Council. When Karna left The White House to become Senior Vice President of a Public Affairs firm, she was the highest ranking woman on The White House staff. Now she is an award-winning author of 5 international thrillers.

Karna gave a chilling, first-hand account of the day of Reagan’s attempted assassination. She also gave brief summaries of the plots of her thrillers. Karna showed a short video of humorous highlights of Reagan’s speeches and later signed books for members who purchased them.
