Celebrating Hera Day in Southwest Florida

Delta Pi Delta sisters met on March 10, 2012, to celebrate Hera Day at Spanish Wells Country Club in Bonita Springs, Florida. Doris Pilliod, who is recovering from a nasty fall, was our hostess. Her face was bruised, but her spirit wasn’t. In the name of our patron goddess, Hera, members of the alumnae chapter who have contributed to the welfare or happiness of others are honored with a red carnation. This year, Delta Pi Delta members have amassed over 10,000 volunteer hours. Also honored were four members who received their 50-year pins: they were Becky Bodnar, Fran Boston, Sandi Chetwynd and Darlene Stevenson. The new officers for 2012-2014 are: Co-Presidents, Shirley Blake and Ann Farrall; Co-Vice Presidents in charge of Programs, Allison White and Carolyn Gottfried; Vice President in charge of Membership, Sandy Glenton; Vice President in charge of Collegiate Affairs, Sasha Williams; Treasurer, Donna Porter; Recording Secretary, Pat Jolly; and Corresponding Secretary, Sue Nipp. The meeting on this special day closed with the recitation by all members of the “Rededication Bond,” as a reminder of the spirit of Alpha Chi Omega and in celebration of thirty-eight years of sisterhood in Southwest Florida.
