On Valentine’s Day, 2015, members of Delta Pi Delta Alumnae Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority met at the Bonita Bay Country Club for their annual fashion show/fundraiser. On this day, members are encouraged to bring their friends to play cards and other games, as well as to share the luncheon and enjoy the fashion show afterwards. Many guests accompanied their Alpha Chi friends and raised the total number of attendees to a high of 84. There were a number of very desirable items that were donated for the raffle, for which members bought tickets. The annual fashion show featured J. McLaughlin from the Village on Venetian Bay in Naples. Our own Alpha Chis modeled the clothes, and Pam Lawson was the mistress of ceremonies. Pam is the manager there and also the daughter of Alpha Chi, Esther Lawson. Everyone had a big surprise when, right after the fashion show, the models distributed shopping bags from J McLaughlin to members. What was inside the shopping bag was even more surprising--beautiful, quite large, flowy scarves from Pam’s shop, and there were scarves of different colors and patterns in the bags. Thanks a million, Pam! The February Birthday Girls were Valary Banker, Sue Halvorson, Ann Farrell, Sasha Williams, and this day of days, Valentine’s Day, is Mary Herndon’s birthday.

Our entrée was Bonita Bay Salad: Grilled chicken breast with julienned mango, macadamia nuts, grape tomatoes, baby greens, radishes, and shaved parmesan with honey-lemon vinaigrette, courtesy of Executive Chef Richard Brumm.
Dessert was molten chocolate cake with vanilla bean ice cream topped by a square of flower-embossed white chocolate.
